Cut from lapis lazuli, this mermaid is built directly into the stone through hand-cut inlay, where the figure emerges through material rather than being placed on top of it.
As a child, I was transfixed by the mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park—women in bright tails, suspended underwater, moving with a kind of effortless control. That early sense of wonder stayed with me, but over time it shifted into something else.
What draws me now is the balance they hold—both the mystical feminine and a quiet strength, existing within a force as powerful and unpredictable as water.
This piece was made as a small talisman for that feeling: freedom, confidence, and the ability to move within something larger than yourself.

Cobblestone inlay pendant constructed from 18 hand-cut stones, including: Andean pink opal (8ct), lapis lazuli (28ct), Laguna Lace agate, Turkish caramel opal (5ct), Kingman turquoise, and mother-of-pearl
Pendant measures 2 ¾ x 1 x 1/8 inches
Includes a 16-inch sterling silver omega chain with a 2-inch extender.
