Recap of my “Inlay Jewelry on a Budget” Workshops at Halstead Jewelry Supply

As part of my 2024 Halstead Jewelry Grant win, I was flown out to Prescott, AZ to visit Halstead Jewelry Supply and teach a workshop to the staff.

Because their studios are only set up for jewelry-making and not lapidary, I had to get creative to come up with a way we could cut stones and make mosaic inlays with the tools at hand instead of relying on specialty lapidary equipment.

Here is a group shot of some of the finished pieces from my workshop “Inlay Jewelry on a Budget.” No jewelry experience was necessary, as we used pre-made sterling silver bezel cup pendants so the students could just focus on coming up with a design and cutting the stones for their pendants.
